Capital reef day 1

Had a great time today. Hiked most of the way up golden dome until Megan decided she had to go to the bathroom. Erin and the boys continued on while I turned back with the girls. Of course we came down and Megan refused to go in the hole potty. Then Ella pooped all over me and herself.
We picniced on the park and the got pies from the bakery. The highlight of Kyle's day though was picking apples at the orchard. He was so excited abd kept asking when we'd go to the orchard. Cane back for chili dogs to finish out the night.
Our camp ground I'd super windy (tie down everything).

Traveling with car problems.

Today we started our trip to capital reef. I am very excited to have a break since work had been hectic. Of course out van got the message and started acting up. It is making noises that are consistent with a timing chain break down. Tracey was supposed to have fixed this problem 6 months ago and it cost us  2,000. I hate car issues. Hopefully we can finish out our vacation at the least.

Loving the rain

We have been getting a lot of rain third August. We are over 200% of normal and it is the perfect situation for us with new grass in our yard. Hopefully it saves us a few bucks.

Take me out to the ball game

We went out to the Bees game tonight. The kids had a great time with the highlight for them being the I've cream in a mini baseball helmet. Kyle in particular had a great time and wanted to stay the whole night, which I would have loved since it was such a nice night, bit the girls were tired and it is a school night.
Ella was cute she loved liking fir the mascot and talking about bees reading honey. She rode on my shoulders as we walked to the game and kept asking me questions about why we were doing. She would try to wrap her face around my head to make sure I was listening. Noah kept a close eye on her while she climbed on the railing and other parts of the stadium.

Wet and wild - ALS

There had been a huge trend on social media for awareness of ALS. People dump a bucket of ice water on them challenging others to do the same or donate $100 to the charity. Our family was nominated by Christian Hinds family. Facebook is full of hundreds of people doing the challenge. I think this is a great example of how social media can be a positive force for good and how people are willing to help others.

Back to school

Kyle and Noah are back at it. Kyle started in fourth grade and Noah is in second. They were both excited abd nervous. Noah kept saying "I hope I don't mess this up". I assured him there was nothing to worry about. I gave them blessings this morning to start out the school year.
As a final good bye to summer went bowling with the marrget family. The kids had a great time. I was disappointed since I bowled under 100.

Noah night

Noah and I had a little one on one tonight. We went to in n out, swimming and then got a donut together, just more and him. After he said that he had a great time. I did too.
We got our grass in yesterday. They delivered ten pallets which almost completed our full yard. We probably have to get two more pallets.

Poor Ella

This morning Ella was jumping on our bed with Megan. She fell and bumped her head right above her eye. She had a huge gash that looked pretty deep. Lucky she didn't bleed much and although she cried hard it wasn't for very long. Erin decided we needed to take her to the doctor to get stitches. I left work to help out. Right when I walked in the room Ella asked for me and wanted me to hold her through out everything. She was super brave and didn't even move when they were putting in the stitches (it might have helped that the doctor had "let it go" playing on his iPad). When we showed Kyle over facetime he let out a big eeewwwh.

Oh Henry

Mary and von had their baby today. He's a healthy boy named Henry. He served tiny to Erin and I. He is 6 pounds 11 ounces which isn't tiny, but for use we are used to much bigger babies. I find out in the morning when von texted me to cancel our tennis game.
It is the first day without Kyle. Apparently he got down to las Vegas and stayed up with Will until three in the morning. Today he went to a pool and a dentist appointment with Will.

Three kids

Kyle went down to las Vegas today. He is going to be spending a week down there with the Schroeders and Erin's parents. It was a really hard decision for us. We were concerned that he would get home sick, but what really concerned is was that we would miss him too much. I know that Noah I'd really going to struggle without his best friend.

Cecret lake

We went for a hike up to cecret lake today. Amazingly it was the first time Erin or I had been up there. It was a beautiful hike with lots of wild flowers and great views. We had a bit of bad timing as there was a bike race that closed the canyon do we had to rush a bit too get up and down. Everyone was doing great until Megan fell. That ended the fun for her. She cried the rest of the way down.
We get our sod on Wednesday. The last delivery was cancelled because the sod farm was flooded from some crazy storms we had recently.
