Dancing Queen

Megan finally had her very first dance concert last a few nights ago. It was so precious.
Megan started taking dance from Just Dance studio in Jan. My friend, Jamie, and her little girl, Alli, attend the Mommy and Me class and got us a spot to join. Megan has always been very attentive at dance recitals she has attended and loves to dance herself. So while I hadn't planned on putting her in dance until at least 4, I decided to give it a try.
She has mostly loved it. She has been bashful at times but has always been happy to go and tries her best.
I had no idea what to expect when it came to getting on the stage. I didn't need to worry though. She kept asking me, "When do I get on the stage??" Asked many times. She got out there and did her thing with a smile on her face and had a good time. (I got verklempt.) She was all excited to get back up there at the end for her bow.
Later she's loved performing her dance for everyone that wasn't there.

                  4th dancer in.

Megan and her good friend, Alli.

What a sweet little dancer she is.
Mommy and Daddy are so proud.

Things I love about today...

Kyle reads the newspaper. I don't read the newspaper. (It helps that it
was an article about Legos. But still!)

Megan running to the bathroom and telling me she's "not going to freak out" (as she is wont to do).

Megan insisting on using my bathroom to wash her hands because the "boys bathroom stinks!"

Noah telling me if he had three wishes they would be -to be rich with money and gold -to be a ninja "wif" swords and
-to have robot armour. That's not asking too much, is it?

Ella getting excited about getting the tub. I loved her quick breaths and feet and twirling.

Thumbs
Oh the thumb-sucker's thumb
May look wrinkled and wet
And withered, and white as the snow,
But the taste of a thumb
Is the sweetest taste yet
(As only we thumb-suckers know).

Meggie Kate's 3rd Birthday

She is three and going on thirteen. I now know what other parents mean when they use this same line on their daughters.  Megan is sweet and shy, sassy and silly.  Her emotions run the gamete. We have had fun on this girl adventure for the past 3 years and we've learned a lot.
Megan is super girly.  She loves dresses and the bigger the better.  She loves princesses, something I never wanted to encourage in my daughter but Megan had her own plans and did not need encouragement.  She loves her night gowns that she has dubbed "jammie dresses" or even more specifically "Jammie dress princesses" or "jammie dress Minnie".  You get the idea.
Megan loves to dance. She recently started dance class "dan cool" (dance school).  She is a bit bashful but still looks forward to it every week.
She LOVES her "Baby Ella" and has from the get go.  She also loves the feel of her and is often found rubbing Ella's head, thumb in mouth.

I had a lot of fun planning Megan's tea party Birthday. I decided to do it because Megan loves to pour water in cups and also of course her girliness.
We kept the party short at an hour.  We ate little pb&j sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, mini fruit kabobs, mini cupcakes, donut holes and of course, Megan poured apple juice.
The girls were all decked out in hats, necklaces, gloves, bracelets and purses.
It was a little girl's paradise.

Silly Meggie

After getting out of the bath and letting her hair dry without a combing, Megan looked in the mirror and said,
"I look like Alex."
I got a good laugh.

 What do you think?

"There are foy moy dinosoys on the floy near the doy."

If you can understand this sentence CONGRATULATIONS, you understand Meganese.

We ADORE this girl and all of her sweet antics.

Answer: "There are four more dinosaurs on the floor by the door."
Any word that ends with the "or" sound turns into "oy".

Raaaiiinnnn...

After weeks of very hot and extremely dry temps, wild fires for the history books and absolutely no rain we are pleased and proud to welcome this change...

Kyle, Noah and Megan are loving the snail hunts, cooler temps and splashing that come along with a good downpour.

Happy Birthday Dear Meggie!

Oh my sweet little Meggie.  What a fun little turkey butt she is.  Look in those big brown eyes of hers; you can see both sweetness and turkey butt all at the same time! This is why we love her.  She is so full of life and happiness and bossiness and ... and...and...and...and (quoting Megs here :)... BEAUTY! I am literally obsessed with this child.

We have LOVED watching Megan grow. She is different from her mellow brothers. She bosses them around. She mothers them. She coos at them and strokes their hair when they cry. She smacks or bites them when they have something she wants. We love her.

She knows most of her ABC's and counts to 10+.  She is talking up a storm but still gets frustrated when she can't communicate exactly what she wants.
I love the way she nestles her little head in my neck when she wants to snuggle. I love how she strokes my arm while she sucks her thumb. I love that she lets me do her hair without fussing. I'm a novice so this is very helpful. I love all the chattering she does. I love that she mimics her big brothers. "Oh yeah, oh yeah."   I miss that she recently stopped doing her senorita cry. No more rolling her R's.  She want's to do everything on her own ("My turn. My turn!"). I love seeing that determination.  I love seeing the girliness come out despite the fact that she has two big brothers who shun all that is girly (oh except for the pink camera). I love that she loves dresses.

We celebrated Meggie's birthday as a family this year.  We really didn't know what Megan would like to do so... we went bowling. She loved it and even played a whole two rounds.  We took a bunch of pictures but I can't find them. (Frustration!)
She got an automatic bubble blower, a Little Mermaid micropone that she loves to yell into and a big pink camera (her brothers love it too).

My beautiful babies.

Dang. I may be biased about the utter beauty of these children but... I don't think so.

Oh my gosh. Look at that sweet face and the Mater teeth! Looooove.

Megan was extremely fun to watch because she is such a poser! The camera guy would tell her to put her hands and feet a certain way and if she forgot she immediately put them back in position.  There was no difficulty in getting her to smile and flirt with the camera.  My boys were also really good at smiling and just doing what was asked.

My favorite.

This kid is just getting too too big. What a handsome boy he is turning out to be.

Precious.
