For My Sweet One Year Old Baby Boy

What's Up With the Shiflett's?
I apologize for the lateness of this last weeks update. I know you all have been waiting with baited breath. Better late than never, right?
...We attended our somewhat annual trip to Kodachrome, had a smashing time and ate ourselves silly. (Thanks Cheryl!) Part of the reason we had such a fab time was because our friends, the Wall's put up... I mean came along with us. (pics coming soon)
...Noah turned one year old...*sniff, sniff*
...Kyle has only had 2 accidents in the last week and a half, partly due, I'm sure, to Thomas, Nemo and Lightening McQueen. Thanks guys. He is doing so well but I'm still not ready to declare him officially "trained".
...About 5 mintutes from home after our delightful trip, our Jeep decided it had worked hard enough and went on strike. Thankfullyand frustratingly it happened close to home. And also thankfully the Wall's along with their AAA insurance got our car towed home. Thanks again guys. Still no word on the end of Jeepy's strike.
...As a reward to Kyle's for his dazzling potty power we went to the zoo with my family and Whitney and crew. My favorite was the Tiger by far. What a beautiful creature! If you ask Kyle about the zoo he'll tell you about the elephant going potty. I have to admit, for such a nasty...thing it was a pretty impressive sight.

What's Up Shiflett's?
...Noah had his first birthday party and it was a huge success.... (see details below)
...Kyle has gone pee pee in the potty about 10 times (and has asked to go twice) but who's keeping track. Not me! Seriously I don't know how many times but its been a bunch and I'm excited!
...Noah was sick all week long with some kind of a stomach bug but he's been a real trooper.
...Adam and Erin finally got caught up on LOST. 4 episodes! Phew! We missed some doozies!
...Go David Archuleta!
...Dang it Jazz! Down with the Lakers!
...Adam and Erin saw "Annie Get Your Gun" at Hale Centre Theater and had dinner with Crispy, Cole, Mom and Dad. The show was great!
Noah's 1st Par-tay!
Judging by the chocolate gracing his sweet mug you'd think Noah enjoyed diving into his very own birthday cake. Well, unfortunately this was NOT the case. Take another look at the pics and you will see that he looks none too happy in every one of them. Noah hadn't been feeling very good for about 4 days prior so I was worried this would happen. The poor little guy even gagged when Adam tried to put some chocolate cake in his mouth. It was actually kind of funny. Later I felt bad about laughing because he woke in the middle of the night in a mass of throw up. Poor baby!! No wonder he wouldn't entertain us all by gorging himself!

So since I couldn't find any pics of Noah enjoying his own party I though I'd post some of other people that seem to be enjoying it. :)

Noah got lots of wonderful gifts from family and friends. Among them are: books, stuffed animals, retro Fisher Price "TV", clothes, personalized cup, handmade ABC book, money!! ;), cute jungle/hammer toy...he was spoiled! Thanks everyone for coming and loving my poor sickly, grumpy baby even if he wasn't real entertaining. :)
Just so you know, Noah's birthday is May 23rd. We celebrated Noah's birthday 6 days early since we are going out of town that day.

A Week in Review
Adam and Kyle went to the Father and Sons outting where they had a fabulous time. Kyle was especially happy since his cousin Will came and his buddy, Hayden. Of course Kyle came home with a big gash across his face or maybe it was just a scratch but still!!!
Noah is starting to.....roll!!!! Yea! About 6 months late... :)
Noah also has two big, gappy teeth coming in. Love it.
Erin got a beautiful, framed masterpiece (fingerpainting) for Mother's Day made by her two baby boys. She also enjoyed a yummy brunch (french toast w/ strawberries, bacon and juice)made by Adam with Gma and Gpa Shiflett. Later the family went to Nana and Papa's house for dinner. A nice day was had by all especially Erin since Adam changed the numerous poopy diapers. :)
We got a Dyson. 'Nuff said.
We got a bike trailer and are ITCHING to try it out esp. Kyle. Dang rain.
Noah is signing AND saying "dog". Finally something to report at sign class. :)
Kyle calls sandals "puzzles" (???????) and no matter how much we correct him he refuses to change. Ah well. Its cute.
Tommy is now an "it". Poor pup.

We couldn't pass up a free ride...
...but maybe we should have. We had a great time being together as a family but.... the Front Runner ride itself wasn't all we hoped and dreamed it would be. It was a stop and go kind of ride and taking forever so we got off the hot, packed train at the Farmington "depot" thinking a train would be there soon. Yeah, we waited a good hour with hungry, thirsty, tired kids. Fun, fun! :)
For some reason this pic wouldn't stay right side up but I had to post because it is so cute. You can just see his excitement. Check out the tongue and the blurry hand. "I wanna go on the big train!"
