Noah Love {Old Draft}

Original date 8/3/09

Noah is a major talker.

Noah loves to sing and we get a big kick out of that especially since Kyle didn't sing until he was about three. Noah's been training his vocal chords since he was 18 months old. When we put him to bed at night, rather than Mommy or Daddy singing him songs it ends up being a sing-a-long. He insists on singing with us. He is also very good at hearing a song 2 or 3 times before he can sing it by himself. He frequently surprises us with new songs he's learned.

He loves Tommy. He is always proudly saying "Tommy da big dog."

Another favorite quote is "C'mon wace (race) car!" This is used when trying to get something, anything, to go i.e. car, DVD player, toy, etc.

We are in love with Noah's big, gappy, squinty-eyed smile. It melts the heart.

Noah uses please and thank you without prompt and makes his Mommy and Daddy very proud.

Love Kyle {Old Draft}

{Original date 8/3/09}

He is such a sweet big brother to Noah. They play so well together.

Kyle is a VERY tender and sweet boy- especially towards his Mommy. Kyle always makes sure that I know he loves me and tells me at random times during the day. If I ask Noah for a kiss, Kyle insists on giving me one as well.

Kyle is an incessant whistler. He learned to whistle at the very young of age of 24 months. People used to be so surprised to hear him whistling his own little diddy. He whistles in the middle of fighting with Noah. He is whistling even as I type this.

Kyle is, for the most part, a very polite boy. The funny and unfortunate thing is that I think he reserves the majority of his politeness for Mommy and Daddy. We're working on that.

{I can't believe how big my biggest little man has gotten since this posting.}

What is it about Sepia...

{Old draft May 2008}

...or black and white for that matter? I think I am permanently going to switch my camera to take pics in either of these color modes. Normal pictures look more creative. Baby boys look impossibly more precious. Acne breakouts are hidden, wrinkles look less...wrinkley (Okay so maybe these are the real reasons but still! :) )

{Oh my lands, I can hardly stand how sweet my boys are/were. Look at Noah's cheeks!}

Introducing! Tommy the Dog!

{Old draft}
Early 2008
So I've never formally introduced my dog and since he has had a pretty traumatizing experience recently (neutered, poor baby.) and is a big part of our family, I thought he deserved some attention on the family blog.
Tommy is a full bred Golden Retriever *Ooooo! Ahhhh!* and will be 3 years old on June 10th. We got him when he was a couple of months old and was about as sweet a puppy as you could ever want but I, uh, didn't like him. (Am I just so evil?) He required SO much attention and training that it took away from my other human 2 month baby boy. However, after lots of training ("No, Kyle's stuffed bear canNOT be your bed buddy!") and getting used to one another Tommy and I are now good friends. We have come a looooooong way in the last three years. He has become a wonderful, excited, loving, potty-trained, semi-obedient, lap dog wanna-be, walk lover (calm down, Tom), vacuum/mop, 90 lb., foot warmer of a man or woman's best friend.

Old Drafts

So I've been going through old blog posts and have found that I have a lot of drafts that have never been posted and that have great information.  I don't feel I have time to go through and finish them but I do want to get them on here. Also, some of them go in blog books that have already been printed.  So I will be posting them randomly here, under simply "Old Drafts". Enjoy!

January 2008

Dang. I am tired. I have bags under my eyes from...well, you know where and I don't want to do anything but go to crawl into bed. The cause of my stupor? My sweet, beautiful, precious, little...no, make that big, baby boy, Noah. Over the past 2 weeks he has woken up an average of 4 times a night. Now remember, this is the AVERAGE. Some nights it was upwards of 6-7 times. He has had a nasty cold and ear infection.  Poor me..I mean, poor baby. Prior to this insanity, he was still getting up 2-3 times a night and he wasn't even sick. Some nights he'll wake up and I'll feel so frustrated that I pull the pillow over my head but then come morning I'll go into his room where he will greet me with a smile to make my heart melt. This is the reason I am a Mommy. This is the reason the bags under my eyes are worth it. Its amazing how the memory labor pains diminish, the wakeful nights fade,

See? Couldn't even finish the post I was so tired. ;)
