A Week in Review

Adam and Kyle went to the Father and Sons outting where they had a fabulous time. Kyle was especially happy since his cousin Will came and his buddy, Hayden. Of course Kyle came home with a big gash across his face or maybe it was just a scratch but still!!!

Noah is starting to.....roll!!!! Yea! About 6 months late... :)

Noah also has two big, gappy teeth coming in. Love it.

Erin got a beautiful, framed masterpiece (fingerpainting) for Mother's Day made by her two baby boys. She also enjoyed a yummy brunch (french toast w/ strawberries, bacon and juice)made by Adam with Gma and Gpa Shiflett. Later the family went to Nana and Papa's house for dinner. A nice day was had by all especially Erin since Adam changed the numerous poopy diapers. :)

We got a Dyson. 'Nuff said.

We got a bike trailer and are ITCHING to try it out esp. Kyle. Dang rain.

Noah is signing AND saying "dog". Finally something to report at sign class. :)

Kyle calls sandals "puzzles" (???????) and no matter how much we correct him he refuses to change. Ah well. Its cute.

Tommy is now an "it". Poor pup.

We couldn't pass up a free ride...

...but maybe we should have. We had a great time being together as a family but.... the Front Runner ride itself wasn't all we hoped and dreamed it would be. It was a stop and go kind of ride and taking forever so we got off the hot, packed train at the Farmington "depot" thinking a train would be there soon. Yeah, we waited a good hour with hungry, thirsty, tired kids. Fun, fun! :)
For some reason this pic wouldn't stay right side up but I had to post because it is so cute. You can just see his excitement. Check out the tongue and the blurry hand. "I wanna go on the big train!"

Da boys

Waste Not. Want Not.

...This is Noah's new motto. Apparently ravioli really hits the spot. He just stuck his face right into the bowl hoping to get every last morsel into his belly. Noah is our little chuga that never passes up a bite of food and it shows. He loves his "solids" which is a good thing because he will be off the "bob" (bottle) and the Mama in 3 weeks.

I just have to say that I have the sweetest, most tender-hearted little guy! Probably 4-5 times an hour he is telling me that he loves me and if its not me then its Daddy, Noah, Will, Hayden and various others. He'll often say "I love lots-of- bodies." Oh, can I just keep him this way forever?

Just a taste...

...and I am ready for more. This passed weekend we went to Zion National Park to take advantage of Adam's "extended vacation". Christian and Nichole were already headed in that direction so we decided to horn in. (Thanks guys!) When we told Kyle that we were going camping he wouldn't stop asking when we were going to "camp with fire". That seemed to be the only thing he knew of that had to do with camping. Kyle has been a lot of fun because this year he actually knows whats going on and takes it all in. Both boys were awesome hikers. Nichole was pretty awesome herself. She hauled Kyle's 37 lbs up the toughest part of the Emerald Pools hike. What a buff chick! We took advantage of the Emerald Pools (all of it...at least it felt like it), Weeping Rock and Narrows river walk hikes.

Kyle loved seeing all the water falls and the "crying mountain". (Weeping Rock) The highlight of the trip for him was throwing rocks into the river on Narrows hike and the big long car tunnel. (Oh, can things always be this simple?) He wanted to do it over and over again where as Noah... Well, not so much. Every time we went through a tunnel short or long he'd cry. Weird! The boy isn't afraid of the dark! We couldn't help but laugh.

Both boys were completely worn out by the time the trip was over. The day after we got back we went grocery shopping. Kyle loves the car carts so when I didn't hear car engine and beeping sounds I looked in the car to find that Kyle had fallen asleep at the wheel. I know. We seriously need to discuss the dangers of this with him. But he never falls asleep any where but in his bed or car seat. I think he has recovered now and is ready to go camping again and so am I! Memorial weekend can't come fast enough!!

Beginner Bowler

This was Kyle's first experience at the good ol' bowling alley. He has always loved all things ball but we have never gotten around to taking him to the bowling alley and with Adam's "extended vacation" we thought we'd take advantage. We hoped he'd love it and he didn't disappoint. Every time he rolled the ball down the lane whether he hit one or all the pins, he jumped up and down saying "I did it! I did it!" I think there is a lesson to be learned here. As long as we give it our all, that is the only thing that matters. Anyhoo, dontcha LOVE the shoes!! I wanted to take them home with me they were so cute!

Easter Festivities

An Easter egg hunt all to himself. (Noah was napping.) Buncha greenies!
I thought it was so fun and appropriate to go see these sweet new baby sheep. Kyle liked it too.
Noah and his cousin, Ava. They look like they are at a dance together being matchy- matchy and all.
Holy smokes! We got a lot of candy!! It actually makes me gag a little. Well, at least now our food storage is all good!

Kyle Won the "Poopie Prize"

I promised Kyle a bike if he'd go poo-poo in the potty thinking that he wouldn't actually do it. Yeah, he proved me wrong. So off we went to Wal-mart where luckily they had a "teeny bike" for 30 bucks. Unfortunately, as soon as he had his bike picked out he decided he had to have a "hat" (helmet). Who am I to turn down my little safety kid? Hence the "Cars" helmet and pads. So now your wondering if the bribing worked...welllllll, not exactly. He has "gone" 3 times now but hes not too interested in his "Thomas" undies and prefers his diapers. Ho hum. The next poopie prize will be Woody from "Toy Story" and hes got two more stickers to go....

Bright boy

Noah is such a happy, funny boy and these pictures are proof of that. Every time he is exposed to bright lights of ANY kind- flash from the camera, the sun, whatever- he pulls this funny face. Its easy to get him to smile for pictures! Whenever we go out in the sunshine he crinkles up his nose while grinning from ear to ear. I can't wait for summer because he will be smiling all season long! :)

I LOVE dancing with other men! Part II

I was all set to tell the dance instructor that Adam and I were NOT going to trade dance partners and that there was NOTHING she could do about it!... Yeah, it didn't happen. We were late and therefore I didn't want to interrupt the class and, and, and... I pretty much woosed out. Next week though! At least this week I spent a big chunk of the class dancing with the male dance instructor. (Adam referred to me as the "class pet".) Now before you think what I know you are going to think let me just say that if I have to dance with some other guy he was a much better option. I didn't have to stumble around with guys who were clueless. Dancing with the instructor I learned a lot. Gees guys! :) Anyhoo, Adam and I are really having a good time and can't wait to go bust a move out on a real dance floor when these classes are over.

I LOVE dancing with other men!

I finally got to "cash in" on my Valentine's gift from my hubby. "Beginning Salsa Dance". Boy, is that an understatement. Me and my man went to our first class on Monday night nervous as to what we would find. We shouldn't have been. The class was full of couples like us looking to add a little spice to their lives, single men and women looking to add to their date-ability... I guess. We were having a good time learning the basics, enjoying each others company, laughing at ourselves and feeling good that we had a permanent dancing partn- "Time to switch partners!" interrupts the dancing instructor. I got to spend the last half of the class dancing with men I'd never met and quite honestly didn't care to meet and feeling embarassed because I kept trying to "lead" the guy I was dancing with. At one point I danced with a guy more than head shorter than me. I kept wondering if he was looking at his feet or the blue and green stripes on the FRONT of my shirt. Ho hum. It really wasn't WAY bad but I wasn't thrilled to be spending the romantic Valentines present from my husband awkwardly dancing with OTHER men. Hence the sarcasm of this post's title....

P.S. I really am looking forward to the rest of the classes because the time I do get to dance with my husband is a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to going salsa dancing and having him all to myself when we are done with the class. No, I'm not possessive!

Future Photographer

If you look close you can see his relfection in the door knob.
He loves Mac!
....and his little brother, Noah.
....and his mommy too for that matter.

The photograher

I let Kyle have a good time with the camera and here is a very small sampling of what he came up with. He took a TON of pics. Adam and I just laughed and laughed as we looked through the pics he had taken. He even suprprised me by taking one of me in a very private moment. (I was sitting on the toilet...) However, for obvious reasons, I opted not to include it. :)

Does this make me a bad mom?

I couldn't help myself especially when he seemed so pleased...
